This photo series documents landscapes of different countries and cultures, showing the contrast and interrelation between natural and man made landscapes. Often, a natural landscape has been altered or affected in some way by human activity, whether that be through building something within it or through directly experiencing it. I think this shows that humans are affected by landscapes and by nature; that we build upon or view something already there and it forms a part of our perception of who we are.
The different landscapes of different cultures are fascinating, in that they give insight into the people of that culture; perhaps their current or historic values, the ways that they live and the kind of environments they interact with. The contrast between different landscapes of different countries is something I find personally inspiring. A sense of expansion through uncovering new sides and new people of our world.
These photos are taken on a mixture of 35mm analogue photos and on a phone, over the course of 9 years and in different locations across the world.
Locations: Indonesia, England, France, The USA, Iran, Austria, Spain, Mexico.
